Category: Woody Floral Musk

Notes: saffron, caraway, rose, jasmine, sandalwood and vetiver.

The Bottle: Lovely traditional lines, with a more modern twist in the fading red tint of the glass. Sophisticated, and a pleasure to behold. Now if only its contents weren’t the olfactory equivalent of a yawn. ***

Scent: Upon first sniff I was intrigued, but those initial promising notes never developed into anything worth celebrating. Quite simply, I find it flat and unremarkable, which is almost worse than it being horrible. It blends into the background, a wallflower. The slightly unusual smokey, woody rose that first presents itself quickly departs, leaving a thin, mildly spicy jasmine that then simply runs off with its tail between its legs. Nothing special. **
