Notes: Mandarin orange, freesia, sage, violet, carnation, lily, marigold, jasmine, lily of the valley, rose, narcissus, heliotrope, amber, musk, sandalwood, patchouli.
The Bottle: Megan Fox in a bottle – pretty, nice shape, crashingly boring, and on its way out. Every friend I had in high school had at least a mini of this sitting on their desk, but now it gets pushed to the back, along with the other decent-but-unremarkables. ***
The Scent: The problem here is not that it is unpleasant, but that it’s uneven. I find this scent a little bi-polar, in the sense that it can smell ridiculously cheap and horrifying on one person, and lovely on another. When first sprayed, it surges forward guns blazing with a heady rush of carnation, lily and the slightly unusual marigold. An hour afterwards, it seems to suffer from crippling self-doubt, and retreats into a patchouli coma. Not terrible – on some even pretty – but certainly not a favorite. ***
