Category: Floral Woody Musk

Notes: Lavender, Mandarin orange, bergamot, rosewood, patchouli, musk, amber, orchid, cedar, a blend of woodsy notes.

The Bottle: True to its word, it’s quite lovely, but entirely safe. However, one ought to remember that it’s better safe than an Anna Sui miniature monstrosity or a Britney Spears creation inspired by sparkly stripper costumes. Simple, feminine, soft lines, no complaints. ****

The Scent: Odd. I tend to experience lavender as a more masculine note, and it is clearly the dominant force here. The result is an extremely herbal, almost medicinal top, with a musky patchouli pressing in close behind, and eventually taking over. The unusually prominent duet of woods also do much of the heavy lifting, to the degree that I checked to see if I had applied men’s cologne by mistake. Certainly nowhere near as powdery soft and womanly as both packaging and name lead me to believe….. but then one could say the same of my Aunt Florence. ***
